The staircase is famous. Getting there is part of the experience.
There is no road to Flørli. Access is by boat, ferry or on foot, which means the day has to be planned around both the fjord and the mountain. The wooden staircase climbs roughly 740 metres before the normal return follows a separate marked mountain route.

Season matters
The staircase is seasonal and should not be treated as a winter hike. Wet steps, wind and changing mountain conditions can make the climb feel very different from one day to the next.

Transport timing is the key. A well-planned day gives the boat journey enough space and avoids turning the staircase into an isolated rush between departures.
