Guided Winter Hike to Pulpit Rock in Fresh Snow
Fresh snow, a quiet trail, and two groups from England.
Two groups from England, fresh snow and a quiet trail
Two groups from England joined us for a winter hike to Preikestolen, not long after fresh overnight snow had changed the trail.
Winter turns this route into a different job from a summer hike. Pace, footing and breaks all have to match the snow, the temperature and the people in the group, so we kept the day steady and adjusted as conditions changed underfoot.
At the plateau, the fresh snow and the quieter trail gave both groups a view of Pulpit Rock and Lysefjord that most summer visitors never see.
What we arranged for the two groups
A guided winter hike to Pulpit Rock, adapted to fresh snow and the pace of two groups from England.

Norway, stays with you.
Thank you for hiking Pulpit Rock with us in the snow. It is a different mountain in winter, and we hope the quiet trail and the view from the plateau stayed with both groups the way it usually does.
It was a pleasure guiding you — we would love to help plan the next Norway trip, winter or not.
A Taste of Norway on the Snow
At the plateau, with the fjord white below and the wind picking up, the guides handed round Kvikk Lunsj — the chocolate bar that goes into every Norwegian backpack, snow or no snow. A short stop, a quick bar, then the walk back down before the light went.
Greetings from Norway to our friends in England. 🇳🇴
