HIKING & MOUNTAIN ADVENTURES · ACROSS FJORD NORWAY

This is what we do best.

From Preikestolen and Kjerag to Flørli 4444, Trolltunga, Månafossen and beyond, guided hiking is the heart of what NORDIQ does. Private or small-group, sunrise, sunset or deep winter, a first mountain day or a properly demanding one — we build the route around your group, your fitness and your dates.

The trail decides the pace.

Some of Norway’s most photographed views sit less than two hours from Stavanger: Preikestolen, Kjerag, Flørli 4444 and Månafossen. Others, like Trolltunga and Romsdalseggen, are worth the longer drive. We guide all of them, matching the route, the timing and the level of challenge to your group — whether that means a first easy summit, a private sunrise start, a winter hike with crampons, or a serious full-day trek.
A FEW WAYS IT COULD LOOK

One Region. Endless Trails.

These are examples, not fixed packages. Every hike below can be guided privately, timed for sunrise or sunset, or adapted for winter conditions.
Hike to Preikestolen above Lysefjord, Norway

Preikestolen · Pulpit Rock

A sheer 604-metre cliff above Lysefjord and Norway’s most photographed view. An 8km round trip, at its best guided privately at sunrise before the crowds.
Guide and guest during a guided hike in Southwest Norway

Kjerag · Kjeragbolten

A longer, tougher day to the boulder wedged high above Lysefjord. Chains and exposed rock make a local guide genuinely useful here, not just a nice-to-have.
Flørli 4444 wooden stairs in Lysefjord, Norway

Flørli 4444

The world’s longest wooden staircase — 4,444 steps up from a former hydropower village on Lysefjord. A tough climb with a boat ride built in.
Trolltunga rock ledge over Ringedalsvatnet, Hardanger, Norway

Trolltunga · Hardanger

The rock tongue over Ringedalsvatnet is further afield — about 4–5 hours from Stavanger — and a full day on the trail. Worth the drive for the properly prepared.
Månafossen waterfall in Frafjord, Norway

Brufjell · the coast

A different kind of terrain: sea caves, potholes and coastal rock near Åna-Sira. An easier, low-altitude walk with the ocean instead of a fjord.
OR DON'T CHOOSE YET

Tell us your level and dates.

We will match the trail, the guide and the pace to your fitness, your group and how far you’re willing to travel from Stavanger.
HOW DEMANDING SHOULD IT BE?

Your mountain day can be gentle or serious.

A first hike does not have to be extreme. Equally, experienced and active guests can build a longer, more technical day with the right guide, route and conditions.

Easy introduction

A shorter, well-marked trail such as Månafossen or Brufjell · real Norwegian mountain scenery without a full-day commitment.

Full-day classic

Preikestolen, Kjerag or Flørli 4444 · several hours on the trail, good fitness needed, a proper day outside.

Serious & demanding

Trolltunga, Romsdalseggen or a winter ascent · long days, exposed terrain, and a guide who knows exactly when to turn back.
Not sure? Tell us about your group, fitness and travel dates. We will help choose the right hike.

Every trail has its own reward.

From the sheer drop at Preikestolen to the 4,444 steps of Flørli, the boulder wedged above Lysefjord at Kjerag, and the knife-edge ridge of Romsdalseggen further north — Norway keeps testing new legs every season, in every kind of light.

GOOD TO KNOW

A few things people usually ask.

No. The right hike depends on your group and fitness. Guided options range from easy, well-marked trails like Månafossen or Brufjell to demanding full-day treks like Trolltunga.
Tell us your group’s fitness and experience and we’ll suggest a realistic match. Preikestolen and Kjerag are the classic full-day options; Månafossen and Brufjell are gentler; Trolltunga and Romsdalseggen are for well-prepared, experienced hikers.
Yes, and it’s one of our favourite ways to do Preikestolen in particular — the same trail, without the daytime crowds, timed around sunrise or sunset.
Several of these trails run through winter with the right guide, equipment and judgement about conditions. Crampons, extra layers and a realistic turnaround time are all part of the plan.
Often, yes, particularly on the easier trails. Private guiding gives families more flexibility on pace and distance. Tell us the ages and experience in your group and we will suggest a realistic option.
The guide makes the safety call. Routes and difficulty can be adjusted to current weather and trail conditions, and on a demanding hike like Kjerag or Trolltunga, that can mean changing the plan or turning back.
Absolutely. We regularly build hiking days into a wider journey with fjord cruises, glaciers, local food and distinctive places to stay, wherever in Norway your trip runs.
