FJORD & COASTAL EXPERIENCES · FROM LYSEFJORD TO THE OPEN COAST
Norway, privately arranged from the water.
Private RIB, boat and yacht journeys into Lysefjord, along the Rogaland coast and further afield to Hardangerfjord — the route shaped around your group, your timing and the day’s conditions. This is one of the things NORDIQ does most, and most often.

YEAR-ROUND OPTIONS
NOT A STANDARD BOAT TRIP
One boat, one route, one day that's yours.
You don’t need to know RIB from yacht in advance. Tell us who’s coming, how much time you have and what you’d like to see — whether that’s Lysefjord close to Stavanger, the wider Rogaland coast, or a longer day out towards Hardangerfjord. We suggest the right boat and route, then handle the operator, timing and practical details.
A FEW WAYS THE DAY COULD GO
One Coastline. Countless Days on the Water.
These are starting points, not fixed packages. The right boat and route depend on your group, the time you have and the conditions on the day.
Lysefjord by RIB
The classic way in. Fast, open and close to the water, from Stavanger straight into Lysefjord — the boat and pace matched to your group.
Preikestolen from the water
See the 604-metre cliff rise straight out of the fjord — a completely different angle from the hiking trail above, and easy to combine with it.
Stavanger by water
A short evening cruise out of Stavanger harbour, past Sverd i Fjell at Hafrsfjord — an easy way to start or end a longer day on the water.
Jæren · the open coast
Long sandy beaches and exposed coastline south of Stavanger, like Ogna — a different rhythm from the fjords, and a good slower-paced day.
Åna-Sira · sea caves
Rocky coast, sea caves and potholes in the Magma UNESCO Global Geopark — a striking, low-altitude coastal walk near Flekkefjord.
OR DON'T CHOOSE
Tell us what you enjoy.
We will put the day together. Sometimes the route you had never heard of becomes the one you talk about afterwards.
CHOOSE YOUR BOAT
The boat changes the day.
A RIB, a larger boat or a private yacht each create a very different pace and feel on the water. The right one depends on group size, comfort and how much time you have.
RIB
Fast, open and close to the water. Best for shorter trips, dramatic photo moments and combining the fjord with a hike the same day.
Larger Boat
More comfort and shelter for longer journeys, bigger groups or when the weather calls for a steadier ride.
Private Yacht
The most relaxed way to see the fjord — private, unhurried, with room for lunch, drinks or simply enjoying the view.
Not sure which fits? Tell us your group and how much time you have, and we’ll recommend the right boat.
Sometimes the best plan is to change the plan.
Weather changes. A fjord can feel completely different from one day to the next, and a viewpoint can disappear into cloud while another opens up in perfect light. We plan properly — and stay flexible enough to make a better decision when Norway has other ideas.

GOOD TO KNOW
A few things people usually ask.
You do not need to be an experienced hiker or sailor. We can build anything from a scenic, easy-going day on the water to a demanding combination with hiking or kayaking.
Often, yes. Age, experience, weather and the chosen boat all matter. Tell us about your family and we will suggest something realistic.
We adapt. That can mean changing the start time, choosing a more sheltered route, or doing something completely different if it gives you a better day.
Yes, pickup and local transport can be arranged as part of the day.
Absolutely. Fjord and mountain combinations, like Lysefjord by boat with a Preikestolen hike, are one of the best ways to experience this region when timing and conditions allow.
Yes. Tell us your ship and port times. We plan around a realistic return margin rather than squeezing in an itinerary that does not make sense.
Yes, with seasonal adjustments. Most days run close to Stavanger, but longer journeys towards Hardangerfjord or further along the coast can be arranged as part of a wider Norway trip.
