Guided by people who
understand the job.
NORDIQ was founded by career firefighters, and much of our guiding network comes from the same world — fire, police and ambulance services. We know what off-duty is actually supposed to feel like.
This is a standing welcome to fellow first responders, active or retired, and the people who work alongside them.
A shared background, not a marketing line.
Gert and John Olsson, NORDIQ’s founders, spent their careers in the fire service before building this company in Fjord Norway. The guiding network they built is drawn largely from the same world — firefighters, police officers and paramedics who guide on their days off.
When a first responder travels with us, there is usually someone on the ground who has stood in similar boots.
Choose a direction. We take it from there.
These are starting points, not packages. A good Norway day can combine several of them — or change completely when the weather gives us a better idea.
A private mountain day
Preikestolen, Kjerag or Flørli.
The same trails we guide every week, shared with someone who understands the job.
LUKE · FIRST RESPONDER, AUSTRALIA
Fjord + hike combinations
Boat and boots in one day.
A RIB ride on Lysefjord, then a trail on foot.
TOM & TORY · POLICE OFFICERS, CALIFORNIA
Bring the crew
A private day for your unit or team.
Off-duty colleagues, a reunion or a group trip — tell us the size and we will plan around it.
MARK DUNCAN · BRITISH ARMY, UK
Family included
Not just for the responder.
Spouses, kids and family are just as welcome on the day.
ERCE · POLICE, MEXICO
Flexible, shift-friendly timing
Shift work means odd schedules.
Tell us your dates — even outside the usual season — and we will see what is realistic.
ALPAKURT · AMBULANCE SERVICE, TURKEY
Tell us what you enjoy.
We will put the day together. Sometimes the route you had never heard of becomes the one you talk about afterwards.
Off duty should actually feel off duty.
Some guests want to properly switch off. Others want the kind of challenge they don’t get to have at work. Tell us which one you are after.
Properly switch off
Scenic, easy-paced, no pressure to perform.
A good, honest hike
2–5 hours · real trail · real payoff at the top.
Push it a bit
Kjerag, Flørli, longer routes — for guests who want a proper physical day.
Not sure? Perfect. Tell us about your group and we will help you choose.
Don't take our word for it.
These are people we have actually spent the day with — not models and not catalogue itineraries.
Tom & Tori · Police Officers, California
Two California officers. One very Norwegian staircase. A day at Flørli 4444.
Luke · First Responder, Australia
A first responder from Australia, guided to Preikestolen by people who understood exactly what he needed the day to feel like.
Erce · Anti-Terror Police, Mexico
An anti-terror police officer from Mexico, and a serious Viking-history enthusiast. We built his day around Månafossen waterfall and Sverd i Fjell.
Mark Duncan · British Army, UK
British Army. He booked with us for one reason — that we are built around first responders. That was the whole brief.
Alpakurt · Ambulance Service, Turkey
From the ambulance service in Turkey. He came for one thing in particular — Preikestolen.
Some people just
get it.
You do not have to explain what a bad shift feels like, or why you need a real day off. Our guides have usually been there.
That shared understanding shapes the day more than any itinerary could.
You don't need to explain yourself here.
Our guiding network is built largely from firefighters, police and paramedics who work these days off. Depending on your dates, we do our best to pair you with someone from a similar background.
